Here, on this landing page, we thought we would go more in depth. So, you can know more about us and whom you are dealing with. Ever wonder how these sites come about? How do we come to place of serving your marketing communications print work? Its by decades of providing the highest quality work, working long hours and pulling the rabbit out of the hat. My dad, Hans Schutte had a knack for that- solving the problem and being ahead of the curve. He was in the forefront of technology and good old-fashion ingenuity. Hans taught us well!
Our mission is to see how we can serve you better. We are a group of craftsman always seeking to improve, willing to travel to meet the client and willing to travel to the major tradeshows and see the latest & greatest. It takes effort and there are no easy paths. If so, everyone would be doing it. Which you may believe is the case by everyone on the Internet saying they are the cheapest and best. These places come & go. Then you will ask, “where are my files?” Lost forever- not here at ColorGraphics.
Here is a little history. Most of it dates back to 1982 when we were the first color separator in Maine producing color separations before scanners. Hans taught the first pressmen how to print in color in order to create their separations. Prior to 1976, the world was black+white.
Jump forward though all the progressions of the evolution of scanners, composition machines (before desktop computers), buying out Time Life prepress equipment, open the states first digital photography studios, the first large-format printer and installing the first digital offset printing press. (a full 7 years ahead of any shop north of NYC, including Boston) and you have a company built on innovation and cutting edge- often referred to “bleeding edge”.
In 2003, Peter Schutte founded Noble House Publishing after acquiring a medium size publishing company called Two-Bytes Publishing. Two Bytes titles are mostly categorized as Arts and History.
In 2005 Peter Schutte (Hans’ son) owner of Noble House launched Color Graphics, a division that offers turnkey graphics, print management and media services.
Peter Schutte has more than thirty-three years experience in the graphics and printing arenas with much of that time spent managing the family business, Graphic Color, Peter was the salesman for his dad’s company and built the relationships necessary to survive in the encroaching world of desktop computer. More people were doing the work themselves. Printer’s too- which lead to the decision to expand into the digital realm. Our production facilities today produce the highest-quality work and the latest equipment. Peter’s years as a print salesman have earned him a reputation for reliability and outstanding service.
What we have found that works- at our sign facilities, we only use the best available media’s and substrates. In many cases we will upgrade you to a thicker better material. You want a 10oz-13oz re-enforced banner (like online websites) – we will upgrade you to a superior 15oz re-enforced vinyl that has a block-out layer. Our banners, we are told, are better! Your final product will withstand exterior elements a lot longer and look fantastic in any interior setting. Let us know if you need museum quality- we have these solutions too! Place in front a window- no SUN-thru!
Need a black backed vinyl?
We are the only sign shop in Maine offering this product with excellent results. This is a nice 15oz media with 2x block-out layers. NO glare! Our Coroplast is an opaque substrate- again, NO Sun-thru. Other sign shops offer the basic cheapo standard Coroplast and when placed outside you will see the reverse print, backwards. Not at Colorgraphics! We inventory the expensive opaque stuff but pass along our buying savings to you. More value for you to be successful!
Need back-side printing for two-sided effect? We have excellent solutions for this.
Colorgraphics is a beta-test site for many manufacturers and distributors.
